Cultural Dance Program
Since time immemorial, Pueblo communities have celebrated seasonal cycles through prayer, song, and dance. These dances connect us to our ancestors, community, and traditions while honoring gifts from the Creator. They ensure the continuation of life by providing a connection from the past to the future.
Cultural Dance Schedule:
Spring Dance Schedule (April): Saturdays & Sundays 11am and 2pm
Summer Dance Schedule (May – August): Fridays at 2pm, Saturdays & Sundays 11am and 2pm
Fall Dance Schedule (September – October): Saturdays & Sundays at 11am and 2pm
Winter Dance Schedule (November – March): Saturdays & Sundays at 12pm
The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is the only place in North America to offer Native American dances every weekend year-round, showcasing dance groups from the 19 Pueblos of New Mexico, as well as our neighboring Tribal Nations. What visitors see at IPCC are social dances that are meant to be shared with the public, and several of our dance groups have a Round Dance, inviting visitors to join in the celebration.
Traditional Pueblo dances are still held in the Pueblos today. These dances are deeply tied to the Pueblo way of life and are unique to each Pueblo. Many dances are closed to the public out of respect to our ways of life. On Feast Days, the public can visit a pueblo and experience a traditional dance. Learn more about Feast Days Here.
