Online

This month's program will focus on the importance of using photography as a medium of cultural preservation, current events, and artistic expression—captured in a single frame.

Rock Your Mocs

IPCC Courtyard 2401 12th St NW, Albuquerque, NM, United States

Break out your moccasins for a worldwide celebration of Indigenous cultures. This annual event was founded in New Mexico by Jessica Jaylyn Atsye (Laguna), who sought to unite Native American, Aboriginal, First Nations, Alaskan Native, and Indigenous peoples globally by encouraging participants to wear their moccasins for a day. Come and show off your mocs at our photo wall, then share your picture online with the hashtag #RockYourMocs. You can also meet Jaylyn and enjoy a moccasin-making demonstration! Free for members, or with museum admission. Get tickets here. Become a member here.

This month we celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a look at a variety of contemporary works of art by Pueblo, Hopi, and Navajo artists. Much of our collection of art is donated to the Center, and there are beautifully crafted treasures in many of these donations. We honor our Native American tribes here in the Southwest with an exclusive look into our art collection.
