Pueblo SEEDSS-Youth Conference

Activities will include: Traditional Ecological Knowledge; STEAM Activities with traditional foods; an art activity; and Shinny ball. 41st Annual Native American Student Art Show
Artists Circle Gallery 2401 12th St NW, Albuquerque, NM, United StatesThis annual exhibition was established in 1979 to encourage creativity among Native youth, and to help them recognize that the future preservation and evolution of Native culture lies with them. This year, entries focus on COVID-19 and how young people used art as a way of healing and processing their feelings about the effects the pandemic had on them, their families, and their communities. Our last Pueblo SEEDSS workshop of the year will include Traditional Foods presentations and demonstrations.

This month’s activities will focus on Traditional Ecological Knowledge on traditional foods. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and participants will receive a FREE take-home garden kit. Space is limited to 30 young people, ages 7 to 16.

This annual event was founded in New Mexico by Jessica Jaylyn Atsye (Laguna), who sought to unite Native American, Aboriginal, First Nations, Alaskan Native, and Indigenous peoples globally by encouraging participants to wear their moccasins for a day.
