Pueblo Book Club: Rock-Art of the Southwest: A Visitor’s Companion – By Liz and Peter Welsh
02:00 pm - 04:00 pm MST
After the long cold nights and days of winter, combined with COVID-19 self-quarantine, anticipation to experience the outdoors shouldn’t be denied. ‘Rock-Art of the Southwest: A Visitor’s Companion’ by Liz and Peter Welsh, offers a beginner, a primer to ‘bone-up’ on the unique and mystical petroglyphs and rock-art of New Mexico’s Ancestral Puebloan civilizations. Whether a frequent visitor or ‘first-timer’ to the many Southwestern national historic sites, the developers of these ancient civilizations left evidence, describing or interpretation of their worlds. This month’s reading offers the reader an insight to these ancient art-forms to take along the next time visiting the site for real.
