Pueblo Book Club: “A Most Splendid Company: The Coronado Expedition In Global Perspective”
02:00 pm - 04:00 pm MDT
“A Most Splendid Company: The Coronado Expedition In Global Perspective” is by Richard Flint & Shirley Cushing Flint who are our in-person guests!
400 years ago, nothing had prepared the inhabitants of what is now referred to as the US Southwest with the sight of the first incursion by the Spanish. Often taught as Spanish search for ‘gold’, as contributing to the arrival of the Coronado Expedition, Newer research and evaluation of records reveals different factors prompting a desire to spend two years wondering into what was referred to as ‘terra nullis’. ‘A Most Splendid Company: The Coronado Expedition In Global Perspective’ is a thorough re-evaluation of the factors that led to tremendous hardships, loss of countless lives, and disappointment based on a myth.
