IPCC’s Family Story Time
01:00 pm - 02:00 pm MDT
On Saturday, April 27th our book title will be Good Rainbow Road RAWA’KASHTYAA”TSI HIYAANI (Available in the Indian Pueblo Store here).
The Good Rainbow Road, from Acoma author Simon Ortiz, tells how two courageous boys and of how they saved their village by undertaking a westward trek to the home of the Rain and Snow spirits to plead for water. Written in the tradition of Native American oral storytelling and accompanied by colorful illustrations from celebrated Native artist Michael Lacapa, it brings the powers of language, memory, and imagery to a tale that will captivate children ages seven and up.
Wonderful title presented in Keres, the language of Acoma Pueblo and six other Pueblo communities in New Mexico, and in English, with an additional Spanish translation in the back of the book.
Free admission for children and an adult family member.
