42nd Annual Native American Student Art Show Opening Reception

@ Artists Circle Gallery Saturday 10.29, 2022
01:00 pm - 04:00 pm MDT

Join us for the opening reception of the 42nd Annual Native American Student Art Show.

There will be an awards presentation and light refreshments.

The theme this year is “Who is Your Superhero? Who do you aspire to be?” We have so much to be thankful for in our lives and our spaces. Who helps you to see the beauty in your world? Is it your parents, your pet(s), movie characters, books, movies? Who are your Superheroes?

Young artists are given the choice of making their works available for sale during the show, with 100 percent of each purchase returning directly to the young artists. Through their artwork, today’s youth will be able to share their unique perspectives and be opened to the importance and viability of art as a future for themselves and the future of their communities’ ways of life.

The Native American Student Art Show (NASAS) was established in 1979 to encourage Native youth to develop their own creativity, recognizing that the future preservation and evolution of our culture lies with them. Native youth from grades K-12 are invited to submit artwork for a curated and juried show every fall. The artworks are displayed in our Artist Circle Gallery/South Rotunda from October – January, and winning artists receive a prize.
