ALBUQUERQUE – Join the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) for an educational journey through past, present, and future with a unique series of events commemorating the Pueblo Revolt.
The Pueblo Revolt took place on August 10, 1680, when the Pueblo nations of New Mexico accomplished the most successful Indigenous uprising against colonial intruders in North America. The Pueblo Revolt played a significant part in ensuring the survival of Pueblo culture.
This 3-day program is centered on the legacy of the Pueblo Revolt by connecting history with contemporary relevance while empowering youth through themes of resilience and community responsibility. Families, youth, and educators are all encouraged to attend. All programs are free to attend and will provide valuable teachings beyond the classroom.

The Youth Workshop invites young people to explore resilience, communication, and community action through the Indigenous Wisdom Curriculum while reflecting on the legacy and lasting significance of the Pueblo Revolt. Participants will engage in activities that encourage them to identify a challenge they would like to address within their family or community and explore how Pueblo core values such as perseverance can guide positive change. Inspired by how Pueblo people organized and worked together during the Pueblo Revolt, youth will develop solutions grounded in Pueblo values and strengthen their communication skills by collaborating with others to envision meaningful, community-centered action.

This panel discussion will examine the aftermath of the Revolt in the Southern region, including the displacement of Pueblos and the history of lands such as Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. This is an opportunity to learn how this piece of history has impacted the present-day communities.
