Our Story Continues: Pueblo Revolt Weekend

August 9 at 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is tentatively planning a weekend of programming in August 2026 centered on the legacy of the Pueblo Revolt. The series will begin with a free public Story Time on Saturday, August 8, featuring The People Shall Continue by Simon J. Ortiz (Acoma Pueblo). A youth workshop on Sunday, August 9 will engage participants in exploring resilience, communication, and community action through the Indigenous Wisdom Curriculum, encouraging youth to identify present-day challenges and develop solutions grounded in Pueblo values. The weekend will conclude with a panel discussion on August 10 examining the aftermath of the Revolt in the southern region, including the displacement of Pueblos and the history of lands such as Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Together, these programs aim to connect history with contemporary relevance while empowering youth through themes of resilience and community responsibility.
