As we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month in April, we want to recognize all of our volunteers who help make the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center a great place to work and visit. By giving their time and care to IPCC, they support the preservation of Pueblo culture and the uplifting of Pueblo voices. Together, IPCC volunteers log thousands of hours each year as they work to make the Cultural Center a welcoming destination for both tourists and Albuquerque residents.

IPCC has many different areas and departments that require support, and volunteers are an essential part of making sure that everything runs smoothly. Tour guides and docents show guests around the Cultural Center and provide an in-depth look at its exhibits, including the sculptures seen throughout IPCC and the vibrant murals in the courtyard. Volunteers assisting with museum collections management work with our museum staff to care for and preserve valuable historical materials, ensuring that these pieces of Pueblo history are protected for years to come. Volunteers also contribute to special events staffing when the IPCC campus hosts a celebration or gathering.

These are just some of the ways that our volunteers work to make everything we do at IPCC possible. We’re grateful that they have all chosen to share their time and talents with us as they work to share Pueblo culture with the world.

Are you interested in experiencing Indigenous art, history, and culture while helping to preserve Pueblo heritage? Our volunteer program has applications available on our website. We would love to have you join us at IPCC.
