41st Annual Native American Student Art Show
This annual exhibition was established in 1979 to encourage creativity among Native youth, and to help them recognize that the future preservation and evolution of Native culture lies with them. This year, entries focus on COVID-19 and how young people used art as a way of healing and processing their feelings about the effects the pandemic had on them, their families, and their communities. Free for members, or with museum admission.
Pueblo Gingerbread House Contest
Children and adults are invited to enter a Gingerbread house inspired by a Pueblo village, house, community church or historic building, with prizes awarded in children’s and adult categories.

Three Kings Celebration
Three Kings Celebration
As we open a new year, the Pueblos recognize the celebration of the Three Kings along with the installation of newly elected officials. This is a celebration held on many Pueblos in recognition of the gifts given to baby Jesus in Bethlehem. In the Pueblos, we take this time to show gratitude for the gifts from our creator, especially that of our sovereignty. The New Year brings in newly elected officials on many of the Pueblos. We celebrate our rights to existence and pray for blessings to be upon our people—especially our new leadership.

Indigenous Connections and Collections: The Library Blog
The Sámi inhabit the Sápmi region of northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia's Kola Peninsula. Like other Indigenous peoples, Sámi culture is interwoven with land and location. Reindeer are central to Sámi livelihood and identity. Learn more about the Sámi people from IPCC’s Librarian and Archivist Jonna Paden (Acoma Pueblo) in this month’s blog.
